OK. I know this is an old game. But it's also a fantastic game for all of you who haven't played it yet.
I' ve been playing L.A. Noire (copied) on my XBOX 360 Elite (with LT) but then left it aside since there were other games published (like Assassin's Creed or GTA) and I' ve been waiting for them like crazy. That was some years ago and I really don't remember having issues.
Now, that we have a "dead" period of "no-decent-games-developed", I decided to play L.A. Noire on my PS3 Superslim. I'm referring to an ORIGINAL game and not a burned copy. After almost two hours of gaming, L.A. Noire froze my console. The PS3's screeen went static. I switched off my console and then started it again loading my most recent save. But it froze again.
VERDICT? Overheating. Kinda strange for the Superslim since it can hold other "heavy games" like Uncharted or Killzone 3!
I searched the internet and found out that the game caused overheating problems to various PS3 and XBOX 360 owners, malfunctioning their consoles.
I got angry! But I also had a great idea: I went to the store where I bought the game and exchanged it with the XBOX 360 original game. But this time I didn't use the Elite console. I used my Slim RGH console (with the fan set @ 75%).
RESULT? The game played like charm and I'm now on the second DVD!!
PURPOSE OF THE ABOVE: If any of you hasn't played L.A. Noire yet and you own a RGH console, give it a try. On a RGH console with the fan set @70-75%, the game plays well and it won't overheat the console (my CPU's temp was at 46oC though the drive was spinning).
This game is a unique action adventure that reminds us of a film-noir. Especially if you play it in black & white, you'll feel like you're taking part in a movie of the 50s! It sports fantastic graphics, gorgeous face expressions, great action and it "wakes up" the "secret" detective you hide inside!
I strongly recommend it to any of you who played everything, haven't tried L.A. Noire yet and still waiting for a good game to come!
